Neuro Web Design

I found very interesting the book "Neuro Web Design: What makes them click?" by Dr. Susan Weinschenk about our brain behavior when browsing and interacting with websites and how important is the unconscious part of our brain.

We think that we are reasoning, rational people and that our decisions are made by careful thinking. But the reality is that the website we pick, what we decide to do while there, and whether we buy or not, are decisions and actions that we make in a largely unconscious way.

Although some of our decisions on what to buy, and where to buy it from, might come from the rational part of our brain, many of our decisions and actions are based on emotion, and many are based on automatic triggers that we react to from something at the website.

In her entertaining and engaging sessions, Dr . Susan Weinschenk explores and demonstrates research on the brain and neuroscience and applies what scientists have been discovering about the unconscious to the design of web sites so that they are persuasive.

About Dr . Susan Weinschenk
Susan has a Ph.D. in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University , and has been a Fortune 500 consultant for 30 years. Her clients include Target Stores, American Express, and NASA among many others.
A popular international speaker and presenter she definitely “walks the walk” during her powerful presentations. Her nickname is “The Brain Lady” because of her knowledge about the latest research on brain science. Dr. W einschenk’s newest book, Neuro Web Design: What makes them click? , published by New Riders, applies that research to the design of web sites
